Tadashi slams the book that he had been reading closed and tosses it onto the bed beside him. With a sigh, he sits up straighter and turns to place his feet on the floor.  He lets out a sigh and runs a hand through his hair.  Sitting on the edge of his bed, he stares blankly at the wall, lost in thought.  Unknowingly, his leg begins to bounce up and down.

"You're doing it again," Hiro states in an annoyed tone from across the room.

Tadashi turns his head to focus on his little brother, "Doing what?"

"Sulking."

Tadashi frowns. "I'm not sulking."

Hiro doesn't even bother to look up from his computer.  "You totally are."

Tadashi scoffs, "I am not.  I don't even have a reason to be sulking."

"Yeah, you do. You're depressed that (Name) hasn't been in the café since last week."

This time Tadashi rolls his eyes, "I'm not depressed," he replies.

Hiro finally looks over his shoulder with a doubtful look on his face, "Maybe I would actually believe you if you weren't pouting."

Tadashi pushes himself up from the bed and walks to the stairs. "Whatever."

"You're going down to the café to see if she's there, aren't you?" Hiro asks as Tadashi walks passed.

The older boy doesn't justify him with a response, because he's one hundred percent correct.  Tadashi walks downstairs and into the café. His chocolate eyes scan the tables, searching for your familiar form.  He feels disappointed when he doesn't see you.  He's just about to turn and go back upstairs when he sees you through the window.  You're standing across the street, waiting for the light to change so you can cross.  Tadashi doesn't even notice the smile growing on his face as he moves through the café to get to the front door.  He opens it for you just as you reach it.

You look up in surprise when the door opens on its own.  When you see Tadashi's smiling face, you can't help but grin back.  "Hey stranger.  Long time, no see," you tell him as you step inside.

"Tell me about it.  What have you been up to?" He asks in the more polite version of where have you been, which is what he really wants to ask.

"I've practically been living in the library for the past week.  I had a midterm for anatomy and a giant English paper to write up.  I'm an art major, tell me again why I have to still take these classes?  I thought I was done with this stuff in high school!" You explain to him as you both walk over to the table in the back corner of the café and sit down.

He gives you his lopsided grin, "You know, you could have asked me if you needed any help.  I actually kind of like those classes."

You smile brightly back at him, "I'll have to keep that in mind for next time.  Thanks, Tadashi."

"No problem."  He then pushes his chair back and stands up. "What would you like from the café? I'll go order it for you," he offers eagerly.

Your eyes widen and you get a little flustered, "You really don't have to do that."

He smiles kindly, "But I want to.  You better tell me your order, or else I'll just grab the first thing I see and you just have to hope that you'll like it."

You let out a short laugh and give him your order.  While he's off getting it for you, you reach into your bag to pull out your laptop, drawing tablet and sketchbook.

You open up to your newest project on your laptop and plug in your tablet so you can continue working.  It doesn't take Tadashi very long to come back with your drink.  You smile gratefully at him when he hands it to you.

"So, what are you working on now?" He asks, moving his chair around the table, so he can look at your computer screen.

"Minimalist motion of a detailed image," you respond.

Tadashi's eyes narrow as he tries to process what you just said.  "So, what does that mean?"

You laugh and stop drawing on your tablet to look over at him.  "Right now, I'm working on this drawing.  After I have the base done, I'm supposed to animate pieces of it to make it more realistic."

Tadashi nods in understanding.  "Alright. So, you're drawing a cherry blossom tree, right?"

"Yup. And when I'm done, I'm going to animate it to look like a breeze is blowing through."  You turn back to your computer to keep working.

“That’s cool.  So, what do you have in here?” he asks, grabbing your sketchbook and flipping it open.

You feel your heart drop to your stomach, “No, wait!”  But it’s too late, he’s already opened it.  You can see his eyes widen in shock as he looks at your drawings.  Your face gets hot as it turns a deep shade of red.

“Is this… me?” he asks, in disbelief as he flips through your sketches.

“Uh…” You don’t know what to say.  There’s no denying that it’s him, some of your sketches show him with his San Fransokyo Ninjas hat on.  “Yeah,” you let out in a low mumble.  You focus your gaze on the tabletop, trying to control your burning cheeks.

Tadashi softly grabs your chin and  lifts your face to meet his gaze.  He gives you a tender smile.  “You don’t have to be embarrassed.  I feel honored that the great artist (Name) would want to draw me.”

You bite your lip as you get lost in his chocolate gaze.  “Tadashi…”

You feel your breath catch in your throat when you notice his gaze dip down to look at your lips.

“(Name), you’re back!” You jolt in surprise when Hiro pops up next to Tadashi.

You feel both disappointed and relieved that Hiro came to interrupt the intense situation.  “Hey, Hiro.  It’s good to see you!”

“You, too.”  He smiles at you.  “So what are you guys looking at?” he asks, peeking at your sketchbook over Tadashi’s shoulder.  Both you and Tadashi blush, holding your breath in anticipation of his response.  “Huh.  You know, you look better in a drawing than you do in real life.”

You burst into laughter at the unexpected response as Tadashi looks at his brother insulted.  “Hey!” he protests.

Hiro laughs as well and lifts his head to look at you.  “You should have seen this big baby during the past week, without you.  He was moping and sulking all around the house.”

You look at Tadashi in shock as he glares at his brother.  “Hiro!” he tries to punch Hiro on the shoulder, but the younger Hamada dodges his hand and moves around the table to sit next to you.

“He would come down to the café, literally every hour, to see if you were here.  Sometimes he’d check every ten minutes,” Hiro continues to tell you, enthusiastically, enjoying the mortified look on his brother’s face.

You look at Tadashi curiously, “Is this true?”

He won’t look at you for a moment, a light blush tinting his cheeks.  When he finally works up the courage to meet your gaze, he gives you a small, nervous smile.  “What can I say?  I missed seeing you,” he confesses honestly.

You smile sweetly at him.  “I missed you too.”

“Did you miss me?” Hiro asks, cheekily.

You laugh and ruffle his hair.  “Of course.  But, if you guys really missed me so much, why didn’t you just text me?” you ask, slightly confused.

Tadashi frowns, “We don’t have your number.”

You raise an eyebrow at him, “But I gave it to Hiro the last time I was here.”

You both turn to look at him.  Hiro lets out a slightly nervous laugh, “Oh yeah.  I guess I forgot about that…”

“You forgot?” you hear Tadashi say in a dark voice.  He gives his little brother a glare that says I am going to kill you.

Hiro gulps and slowly pushes his chair back.  “Hey bro, why don’t we just calm down?  It’s really not that big of a deal, is it?”

You watch the interaction between the two brothers with wide eyes as the air sizzles and cracks with electricity between them.  In a split second, the two of them jump into action.  Hiro stands up and takes off, his chair falling to the floor.  Tadashi practically vaults over the table to chase after him.

With Tadashi’s long strides, he easily catches up to Hiro.  Wrapping his arms around Hiro’s waist, Tadashi lifts him up and tosses him over his shoulder.  “Ack!  Tadashi, put me down!”

“What’s wrong, little bro?  It’s not that big of a deal,” Tadashi responds in a mocking voice.  He takes Hiro over to the back area, pulling one of the café chairs behind him, and then opens the coat closet.  “Why don’t you think about how much of a big deal it isn’t, while you’re in here?”  With that, he sets Hiro down inside the closet, closes the door and places the chair under the doorknob.

You can hear Hiro banging on the door from the inside.  “Tadashi!  You’re a jerk!  Let me out!”

“Calling me names, really isn’t going to help your case.”

“Aunt Cass!!!!” Hiro yells out, changing tactics.

You see her rolling her eyes behind the counter as she lets out a sigh.  She begins to make her way around the counter but you stand up to stop her.  “It’s okay.  I can handle this,” you tell her with a smile.  She smiles gratefully back and nods.

As you walk over, you pull your cell phone out of your back pocket.  You place a hand on Tadashi’s chest, to get him to step away from the closet and then you give him your phone.  “Put your number in,” you tell him.

He hesitates a moment, before doing as he is told.  When he’s done, he hands your phone back.  You use his new contact information to send him a text, so he can get your number.  It doesn’t take very long for his phone to go off in his pocket.

You smile up at him, “Now, was that so hard?  You really didn’t need to make such a fuss.”  That said, you turn and pull the chair out of the way, then open the closet door.

Hiro rushes out and wraps his arms around your waist, nearly knocking you over.  “Do you see what I have to live with?!  He’s so mean to me!” he cries dramatically.

You laugh and pat his hair.

“Now, who’s being the big baby?” Tadashi asks.

Hiro looks over at him and sticks his tongue out.  You shake your head and have to smile at their antics.  Hiro turns his head to look back up at you, “So did you remember to bring the flash drive this time?”

You nod, “Yeah, wanna see it?”

“Yes!” he exclaims, his previous mood already forgotten.  He lets go of you and dashes back to the table, setting his chair back upright.

You look up at Tadashi and gesture back to the table with a jerk of your head, “Come on.”  You both sit back down and you reach into your bag for your USB memory stick.  You plug it into your laptop and wait for the files to appear.

When you had come to visit last week, you had shown the boys the finished version of your animation in your sketchbook.  However, the movie that you had put together from those sketches was all saved on the computer you used at school, and you kept forgetting to grab a copy of it to show it to them.

The window pops up, and you select the video file for your project.  When it starts to play, you full screen the window and sit back, so they can see.  Hiro is grinning widely the whole time and laughs at how well the animation goes.  Tadashi smiles softly, his eyes glued to your computer screen.

“That was amazing!” Hiro exclaims when it’s finished.  “That’s exactly how it looks in real life!”

You smile, pleased that he liked it so much, “Thanks, that’s kind of what I was going for.”

“You definitely deserved that A you got for this project.  Your talent is pretty unbelievable,” Tadashi tells you.

You can’t help but blush at his compliment.  “Thanks, Tadashi.”

“Can I keep a copy of this?” Hiro asks.

You look at him and nod, “Sure.”  You eject the memory drive from your computer and hand it to him.

He takes it and dashes from the table to go upstairs to download it onto his computer.

“So…” Tadashi starts in a low tone, now that you’re both alone again, “Want to tell me why you have a bunch of sketches of me in your sketchbook?”

Your breath catches in your throat as you blush all over again.  You had hoped that he had forgotten about that.  You meet his gaze for a quick second, but it makes you blush even more that you have to look away again.  “Um, only if you’ll tell me why you kept coming down to the café to see if I was here,” you respond, turning things around on him.

You smile to yourself when you notice his blush, “Well, I just… uh,” he trips over his words and awkwardly rubs the back of his neck.  You see him take a deep breath before a determined look washes over his features and he meets your gaze directly, “What if I told you over dinner, sometime?  Just the two of us.”

Your eyes widen in shock at his question.  You look directly into his gaze to determine whether or not he really means it.  When his gaze doesn’t seem to falter, you figure out pretty quickly that his question was sincere.  “O-Okay,” you agree.

He smiles softly at your agreement, “How does Friday sound?”

You smile back, “Friday sounds great.”
So, it seems a sequel for this was in high demand.  Haha, I wasn't expecting that.  LovesEternalBloom helped me out with the story line a bit.  I worked on it while I was sitting in the airport and on the plane, headed to Disneyland.  I continued to work on it on and off throughout my trip, but ultimately didn't finish it until I got back.  I'm so sad, Hiro and Baymax weren't there any more!  A bunch of the park is under construction, though, so I'm hoping that they'll be back once the construction finishes up.
